THE VALE OF CLWYD SINGERS (VOCS) is a group of 18 professional and trained-amateur voices coming together from North Wales, Chester, Liverpool and The Wirral. Singing mainly a capella – unaccompanied – VOCS also performs alongside chamber orchestras with the full range of soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices.
Musical programmes encompassing a wide variety of classical, baroque and contemporary works have featured in VOCS’ concerts throughout North Wales, northwest England and further afield. Engagements include the North Wales International Music Festival, Conwy Festival, MalFest in Cheshire and the Brandenburg Choral Festival in London.
As well as programming its own concerts, VOCS has performed by request for those hosting fund-raising, corporate, public and private events with specially selected music. VOCS’ musical director, Robert Sells, consults with individuals and organisations to create the perfect sound for any occasion. Bookings and consultations can be made with VOCS through our Contact page.
From its inception in 2011 when some musically-minded friends came together to sing carols and madrigals in pubs and houses around Denbigh, The Vale of Clwyd Singers is now a musical asset in the North West and North Wales, performing a huge variety of musical repertoire. You can hear excerpts and see photos from some of our recent Performances here. VOCS perform major works by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Faure, Britten, Vaughan Williams and more, together with an ever-expanding catalogue of anthems, madrigals, songs, spirituals, folksongs, rounds - sacred and profane and everything in-between - for the delight of its audiences.
